
Tourist arrivals to 23 of 33 member countries of the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) increased 4.5 percent in the first four months of 2010 compared with the same period in 2009, according to CTO officials, who spoke at a press conference in New York as part of Caribbean Week.

Ms. Janice Armour, a well respected native of Dominica, will be honored for her outstanding contributions, and for her dedication to Dominica by the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) during Caribbean Week in New York, next week, June 6-11, 2010. The Special Recognition Award will be presented to Ms. Armour at the 37th Annual Governments of the Caribbean State Ball and Awards Presentation at the New York Plaza Hotel on the evening of Friday, June 11.

The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) secured flight specials for delegates and travel agents attending the 11th annual Caribbean Conference on Sustainable Tourism Development, otherwise known as the Sustainable Tourism Conference (STC), May 9 to 12 in Bridgetown, Barbados.

This May will see Barbados hosting the Sustainable Tourism Conference (STC), organized by the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO). There is growing interest in the STC, as its importance in promoting and maintaining tourism and its environmental impact on the islands becomes a Caribbean priority. Delegates on this beautiful Island will be exposed to international leaders in their fields who will share their ideas and experiences and practical ways of utilizing them.
