
Panama's capital will host Expo Turismo Internacional at the ATLAPA Convention Center, Sept. 22 and 23, 2011. The event will let travel agencies, wholesalers and tour operators from the region network with hundreds of travel destinations and tourism stakeholders from around the world.

UNWTO, in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism of Croatia, has organized the conference in order to address the current need for tourism to be recognized, in mainstream and specialized media, as a driver of economic growth and employment and a tool for development and poverty alleviation.

Burba Hotel Network (BHN), has announced that three special geographically based workshop tracks will be featured at the upcoming Hotel Investment Conference Europe (Hot.E) conference. Hosted by BHN, Hot.E is scheduled for 6-8 September 2011, at the Park Plaza Riverbank Hotel in London.

Mexico’s Pacific Coast City of Mazatlan was named national host of Mexico’s 2011 World Tourism Day celebrations, taking place Sept. 27. Mazatlan’s festivities join global tributes to this annual event of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). Mazatlan promises a vibrant showcase of events celebrating the official theme for 2011, “Tourism - Linking Cultures.”

The Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association will host its annual conference and trade show in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Oct. 3-7.

The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA) and the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) will hold a “Regional Seminar on Tourism: Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SME’s) and Tourism Development in the Caribbean Region” August 31 to September 1, 2011 at the Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort.
