Entitled, “Sustainable Ecotourism Development – Lessons from Dominica,” the panel will feature top tourism officials from Dominica including Dominica´s Minister of Tourism Yvor Nassief, Chief Technical Officer from the Ministry of Tourism Mrs. Esther Thomas, who handles the day-to-day operation of the ecotourism program, and Dominica hotelier Mr. Sam Raphael, who is leading the island´s newest ecological development.
Following its successful launch at last year´s ITB Berlin, this year the ITB Future and Innovation Forum will present forecasts of future developments in the areas of business, society and travel behavior. Participants in the event can obtain useful ideas to help them gain access to and address new target groups. Some of the leading and most influential names in the recent history of the tourism sector will be meeting at this review of the development of tourism over the past four decades. The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) and the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism have announced that the 29th Annual Caribbean Tourism Conference (CTC-29), will take place in the Bahamas in October 2006. A series of business meetings, involving Ministers and Commissioners of Tourism, the Board of Directors and various CTO committees will immediately precede the conference.
