The second edition of the Foreign Investment Opportunity Portfolio and Cuba’s Trade Directory were rolled out Tuesday by Rodrigo Malmierca, minister of Foreign Trade & Investment, during the second day of the 33rd Havana International Fair.
As many as 162 companies from Spain are present at the fairgrounds. They signed several collaboration agreements after the inauguration of the Spanish pavilion.
With entrepreneurs from over 70 countries huddled in 21,700 square meters of exhibition space at the Expocuba fairgrounds, this year’s fair is dedicated to Cuban exports.
The annual fair will be the first one since the United States and Cuba announced in December they would re-establish diplomatic relations after a 50-year freeze, a change that opened trade opportunities and kick-started a rush of American companies hoping to get access to the island.
Cuba’s Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca, welcomed Myron Brilliant, Executive Vice President of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, as he expressed his wish that this visit could help pave the way for better relations between the United States and Cuba.
