Gay & Lesbian Travel has become a recognized growth segment of the international travel market. ITB Berlin was its pioneer and has been showcasing travel products for this market since 2003. This is the fourth time that ITB Berlin will be shining the spotlight on this segment’s exhibitors at an attractive combined stand in Hall 2.1a.

CSR features prominently at the ITB Berlin. On 7 March 2013, the major think tank of the world’s leading travel trade show will again be holding its own CSR Day and highlighting strategies, best practices and the market potential of sustainable tourism. Topics include tourist encounters with local residents, conflicts over water, a vital human resource, and protecting children from sexual exploitation.

For visitors interested in the latest from the worlds of mobile travel services, social networking and blogging the eTravel World at ITB Berlin is the place to be to obtain in-depth web knowledge. From 6 to 9 March 2013 the focus in Hall 7.1c is on social networking sites.

Social and ecological responsibility in tourism is a key subject at ITB Berlin this year, where numerous events are again being used to address various aspects of sustainability and socially responsible travel. The program in the Adventure & Responsible Tourism Hall 4.1b includes discussions and papers.

Young travelers, employees and CEOs, new hotel concepts and distribution channels – on Thursday, 7 March 2013, at this year’s ITB Hospitality Day in Hall 7.1b/ the London Room, the focus is on new, dynamic and unconventional developments.

The travel industry follows its own rules, something that many startups and established companies new to this sector discover. Despite this, the level of interest shown by investors and startups is high. This is the audience that Travel Traction by OpenTravel, supported by the world’s leading travel trade show, will be addressing on the eve of ITB Berlin.
