Mexico City is now easier to get around thanks to the launch of the StyleMap Mexico City application, now available to download for free at the iTunes store. The newly released app invites travelers to get a feel for Mexico City before boarding the plane and be fully prepared to live like a local upon arriving to the dynamic city. The app interface gives travelers insider guides to Mexico City's neighborhoods, restaurants, hotels, art galleries, boutique shopping and museums.
Google on July 28 unveiled an experimental search tool called Google Hotel Finder designed to help users find hotels based on geography and rate. Google Hotel Finder gives users the ability narrow down their search options based on where they want to stay and rate.
TAM Airlines’ passengers will, in around a year, be able to use their mobile devices aboard the company's entire long haul-fleet, including Boeing and Airbus aircraft. The decision to extend OnAir's services follows nine highly successful months in which passengers have enjoyed the chance to make phone calls, send and receive text messages and emails, and access the Internet on selected TAM short-haul flights.

American Airlines and Travelport are apparently on the verge of coming to a temporary agreement that would mean that Travelport would display American’s fares through Jan. 31. 2012, according to a court filing made late last week. At the same time, this may not mean they have reached a full resolution of their differences. In fact, American said in the same filing that Sabre has dramatically raised the booking fees it charges American and that Travelport is about to do the same, in what American is calling a punitive action.
Priceline.com said that it is now booking over 1,000 tickets a day through American Airlines’ AA Direct Connect. American has been leading the airline industry’s charge in connecting directly to consumers and retailers rather than through the GDSs that have traditionally been the main marketplace for consumers and retailers to comparison shop and purchase airline tickets.
