The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) has appointed Vanessa Ledesma as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), marking a significant milestone in the organization’s history. This announcement coincides with Ledesma’s 25th year with CHTA, making the occasion even more momentous.

Ledesma, who has been serving as Acting CEO and Director General for the past three years, is well-respected for her exceptional leadership and contributions to the tourism sector. She began her journey with CHTA in 1999 as a meeting planner and quickly ascended the ranks, becoming the first woman to hold an executive position within the organization.

Her career has been characterized by her strong leadership skills, extensive experience in association management, and a deep understanding of the Caribbean hospitality industry.

As part of her new role, Ledesma will embark on a Caribbean tour, visiting destinations like Antigua, Barbuda, Puerto Rico, and St. Lucia. She plans to engage with member associations, assess potential venues for the Caribbean Travel Marketplace, and strengthen partnerships across the region.
