MagnaTech Launches Traveler Tracker
Technology vendor MagnaTech has added a traveler tracker to its OnQueue suite of
products.
The tool, called Whosaway, is designed to let travel agencies’ corporate customers determine quickly which company personnel are traveling, how long they will be gone and where they are located. Other MagnaTech products include unused ticket tracking and automated document delivery.
OnQueue, housed in Magnatech servers, links to Amadeus and Worldspan to perform
unused-ticket-tracking and document-delivery functions. With the optional Whosaway function, the OnQueue document delivery to travelers includes the delivery of an attachment to a manager or other person selected to receive the missive.
The attachment can be used to create a timeline bar entry in the recipient’s
phonebook calendar, a bar that stretches across the days away. At a glance, the
recipient can see the following on the bar: the traveler’s name, cities visited
as well as the trip’s beginning and end dates. By double-clicking on the bar,
recipients can see the full itinerary and remarks.
A Whosaway version is in development for use with another desktop product line,
called ClientQ, which is compatible with Sabre. Montreal-based MagnaTech markets in the U.S. and Canada and has its eyes on Europe, according to its president, Jacques Thibault. MagnaTech said its products are priced for travel agencies of all sizes.
