This year´s Antigua and Barbuda Carnival was the most successful in the 49 year history of the summer festival. Neil Cochrane, Chairman of the Antigua Carnival Development Committee, said this year´s festival, dubbed the "Caribbean´s Greatest Summer Festival: Keeping the Wadadli Spirit Alive" saw record numbers of patrons attending all of the events, registering a double-digit percent increase over 2004.

A class in crisis communications for the tourism industry will be one of the highlights at the 28th annual Caribbean Tourism Conference (CTC-28) at Frenchman´s Reef & Morning Star Marriott Beach Resort in St. Thomas from October 21 to 26, sponsored by the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO). Barry Pitegoff, vice president of research for Visit Florida, will focus on how to use research to craft a credible message following a crisis.

The Malta Tourism Authority´s online training program for UK travel agents MaltaWiz has been nominated for awards in the Best Online Training Program and Best Tourist Office to the Mediterranean categories. The voting is open to all members of the travel trade in the UK and the results will be announced at London´s World Travel Market in November.

From January 13 to 15, 2006, the Monte Carlo Travel Market presents to the public and professionals a selection of the most exclusive travels in the world. Created last January in the Principality of Monaco, it is greatly expending choosing as new address for its second edition the Grimaldi Forum Monaco.
