Mexico takes center stage as the show’s country partner this year, using its infrastructure growth to appeal worldwide. Tourism already generates 8.4% of Mexico’s GDP and its president is chair of the country’s Tourism Cabinet that aims to grow tourism sustainably so both tourists and residents benefit

The campaign launches with the support of Marriott International and Sabre Holdings, the first tourism companies to partner in the campaign, promoting this important message among their millions of customers

A high-caliber program will feature representatives from the tourism industry and government, who discuss concepts, best practice examples, and the potential profitability of sustainable tourism.

For 2 years, the Haitian government has engaged in an extensive program of revaluation of the tourism sector to put Haiti on the world tourism map. This year, Haiti is present in 14 international tourism fairs.

In 2015 the focus will be on Mongolia, the Partner Country of ITB Berlin. Mr. Altangerel Purev, State Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Mongolia, and Dr. Christian Göke, Chief Executive Officer of Messe Berlin GmbH, officially signed an agreement.

The opening ceremony and the first ITB Summit, two events featuring high-ranking speakers, have signaled the start of the 48th edition of the event. This time around Mexico is featured as the partner country.
