At least two cruise ships have been forced to reroute in order to avoid Hurricane Idalia, which is currently making its way towards the west coast of Florida.

Ahead of Hurricane Idalia, North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper has declared a State of Emergency to activate the state’s emergency operations plan.

Flight tracking website FlightAware shows that the Southwest Airlines schedule is the most affected, with 143 cancellations. United, Delta and American Airlines are also impacted.

All eyes are on the Gulf of Mexico as Hurricane Idalia approaches the Florida coast. Idalia, the 9th named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season.
