JetBlue Launches Nonstop Service to St. Vincent and the Grenadines

JetBlue Airways has announced a significant expansion of its Caribbean network with the introduction of nonstop flights between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Argyle International Airport (SVD) in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

This milestone makes JetBlue the first U.S. airline to offer direct service to this beautiful Caribbean destination, with flights scheduled for Wednesdays and Sundays. The inaugural flight arrived in St. Vincent this afternoon, marking the beginning of a new route that aligns with the airline’s strategy to enhance leisure travel options.

David Jehn, JetBlue’s vice president of network planning and airline partnerships, expressed his excitement about adding St. Vincent and the Grenadines to the airline’s portfolio. He highlighted the destination’s pristine nature, crystal-clear waters, and stunning landscapes, making it an ideal choice for travelers. This new route not only expands travel options for customers but also demonstrates JetBlue’s commitment to connecting passengers with sought-after vacation spots.

Carlos James, the Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Sustainable Development, and Culture for St. Vincent and the Grenadines, celebrated JetBlue’s arrival as a significant step forward for the country’s tourism development. He emphasized that the direct connection with New York will strengthen ties with the diaspora and provide more travel options for both leisure and business travelers. James also noted that this new partnership will create opportunities to promote the islands as a premier Caribbean destination.

Annette Mark, CEO of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Tourism Authority, described the inaugural flight as a landmark achievement for not only the tourism sector but for the nation as a whole. She pointed out that JetBlue’s presence will enhance the destination's visibility in the competitive Caribbean market and facilitate the arrival of more visitors, ensuring a warm welcome for those exploring the islands.

Lastly, Josette Greaves, CEO of Argyle International Airport, stated that this new service represents a significant advancement in improving connectivity for St. Vincent and the Grenadines with other key destinations.
