With the participation of leaders and experts from the tourism sector, the World Travel Expo (WTE) 2024 was officially inaugurated in Miami on Tuesday, October 22, marking a key event for the global travel industry.

Since its inception, the expo has gained increasing relevance, providing a meeting platform for over 10,000 travel professionals, where emerging trends, sustainability, and technological developments are discussed.

In the coming days, WTE 2024 will be the stage for strategic agreements and presentations of innovative destinations, solidifying its position as a must-attend event for the recovery of international tourism.

This year’s edition features Colombia as the guest country of honor, with Avianca participating as the official airline of the event.

"Our Guest Country Colombia will be a particular highlight of the show. This incredible destination has brought its wide range of attractions to Miami, and is becoming a favorite among American travelers. You will definitely want to take the time to stop by their stand and meet with their partners and co-exhibitors, including Avianca, the official airline of the show this year," said WTE Chair Olga Ramudo in her opening remarks.

Rolando Aedo, Chief Operating Officer of the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, and Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, CEO & President of the Miami Host Committee for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, were also in attendance at the opening ceremony.

Since its founding, the World Travel Expo (WTE) Miami has been a key catalyst for the growth of the global tourism industry, establishing itself as one of the most influential events in the sector.

Founded in 2015, the expo was created with the goal of connecting travel industry professionals, fostering collaboration, and exploring new business opportunities in an environment that has gained increasing international importance year after year.

WTE Miami emerged at a time when the city was solidifying its position as a hub for international flights, particularly between North America, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

From the start, the expo positioned itself as a key space for travel companies, airlines, tour operators, and agencies to make connections, expand their markets, and share the latest trends in the industry.
