WTM Latin America Comes to a Close, Announces 2024 Dates

Discover, innovate and learn were the slogans chosen for WTM Latin America 2023, which took place from Monday 3, at Centro Norte in São Paulo, came to an end. The event was attended by the country's most important tourism authorities, more than 600 exhibitors and 45 countries.
Crowded aisles and packed audiences. This is how it looked from the pavilion on the second day of WTM Latin America, the largest and most important B2B tourism event in the region. In the three thematic theaters - Explore Technology, Explore Transformation and Explore Trends - what was seen were discussions on trends, challenges and essential topics for the day-to-day business of the travel trade.
To round off this successful edition, the closing press conference was attended by Daniel Zanetti and Bianca Pizzolito, director and sales manager of WTM Latin America, respectively.
Some of the most outstanding data that were handled in the meeting with the press was the 36% growth in the number of participants compared to last year's edition, as well as the presence of 623 exhibitors against 565 that attended the 2022 edition. International participation included representatives from 45 countries.
According to the count, 15,994 unique visitors entered the event and it should be noted that the figures are partial, since the official balance is only closed at the end of the professional meeting.
"The intention of bringing the world now to Latin America was fulfilled. In addition to the opening of the national calendar of tourism fairs, I think this is an instant that marks the confidence of the current moment, when people feel more comfortable to travel. WTM is increasingly becoming a smart event. This means we are implementing technologies to enhance the trade show experience, networking and business generation," said Mr. Zanetti.
It emerged at the press conference on Wednesday, April 5, that WTM Latin America has launched a unique environmental project, a pilot program whereby for every 100 square meters of stands built for the show, 25 square meters of trees were planted in the Amazon basin.
According to Zanetti, the 2024 edition is scheduled for April 2,3 and 4. "Before the end of this year's fair we already have in place the planning for the next edition, and now, after the end, we will evaluate what needs to be improved."
For her part, Bianca Pizzolito added that this analysis will also address the topics to be dealt with next year, as well as possible changes in the layout of the fair.
