First Hot-Air Balloon in Cuba by the Hand of the Excelencias Group

Cuba’s Tourism Minister Manuel Marrero flew Saturday in a hot-air balloon during the closing day of FitCuba 2018, brought to Cuba as part of the Windtrotter Balloons project marketed and run by Goldblack, a company of the Excelencias Group, which will be sold in Cuba through Ecotur and with the support of the Aviation Club of Cuba.

In exclusive remarks for Caribbean News Digital, Minister Marrero said that "this is something very interesting. It seems to me a very good option that allows people to have a different vision of our travel destinations. It's a very good idea indeed".

On that same topic, Raúl Naranjo, president of the Ecotor travel agency explained that "for the agency and the country, this means a lot because we are introducing new products as an added value to promote tourism in our nation, not only as a destination for sun and beach, but also nature, adventure and rural tourism. This is one of the segments that we will project in the coming years. We plan to start in the high-peak season with both free-flying and tethered balloons in the Varadero, Matanzas and Viñales area, we also think of growing in other tourist destinations across the country," he said.
