On the afternoon of this Friday 20, the President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, accompanied by the Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero and other ministers of the country, announced new regulations as part of the Prevention Plan that the country is implementing to avoid the spread of COVID-19.

So far, the most important is the regulation of borders. Mr. Marrero explained that as of next Tuesday (24) only those residents who are outside the island and decide to return will be able to enter the country. Upon arrival, they will be duly followed according to the measures implemented by the Cuban Ministry of Public Health.

Likewise, all tourists visiting the island will be able to travel back to their countries, so the movement will continue at Cuban airports.

He also assured that the airspace remains open, that is, the airlines that use it can continue to do so.

As for trade by sea and air, it also remains active, and with respect to the crews, both those of the flights that come to leave residents or those that are for the return of tourists to their countries of origin, will not enjoy free movement, but will remain under strict surveillance and monitoring in facilities equipped for that purpose.
