Habanos S.A. Launches Trinidad Vigia

“Today, Habanos in Trinidad are rolled in Vuelta Abajo, the most important city of Pinar del Rio’s tobacco-producing regions, always ruled by the same principles of exclusivity that has marked its career,” said Javier Terres, deputy president Development for Habanos S.A., during the night dedicated to the Trinidad brand, a function held on the premises of the National Museum of Fine Arts in Havana.

“In the beginning, the brand had just one vitola –Fumadores. But now in 2014, it launches the new Vigia vitola (Torres as factory vitola, ring gauge 54, 110 mm long) with a hope to take up a longstanding slack in the thick-ring gauge format so coveted in today’s world. This one comes in Semi Boite Nature (SBN) lacquered boxes of a dozen units each,” he went on to say.

During the function, Mr. Terres thanked Dutch chef Ron Blaauw, the man who cooked the menu, and sommelier Cuno Van’t Hoff and chef Israel Gata, from the Iberostar Parque Central Hotel, who had a big say in the nightly gastronomic layout.

The dinner came to a close with the exclusive tasting of Cohiba Robustos Supremos Edición Limitada 2014 (ring gauge 58 x 127 mm), the first 58 ring gauge ever created by Habanos S.A.
