As tradition mandates during the Habano Festival, the visit to historic cigar factories was part of the Thursday program for all guests. This time around, attendees got to La Corona and H. Upmann factories to take a closer look at how habanos are completely rolled by hand.

Boasting tremendous recognition worldwide, the H. Upmann cigar factory is putting on its bib and tucker with the first H. Upmann Grand Reserve, Cosecha 2011, in its celebrated Sir Winston vitola (47 ring gauge x 178 mm long). All H. Upmann vitolas and some of Montecristo’s are hand-rolled there.

For its part, La Corona cigar factory is the main house of the Romeo y Julieta brand, which this year comes out with a new thick-ring-gauge vitola: Petit Royales (47 ring gauge x 95mm long), which joins the brand’s regular portfolio. This vitola will let the brand lovers wallow in all the taste, scent and mild-tasting range Romeo y Julieta has to offer, though in a much shorter format.
